Important Change In Rollin’ Vets Flea And Heartworm Meds

Apr 21 • 1 minute read

We want to make our clients aware of a situation in the Mississippi Delta that is beginning to look like it could potentially affect our patients here in Texas.

An ivermectin resistant strain of heartworm has been isolated there, and while it is not this far west yet, we are taking every precaution to keep our patients safe!  We will begin prescribing Simparica and Simparica Trio as our preferred Heartworm/Flea/Tick combo over the next few weeks.  If you have any leftover meds previously prescribed, we will trade it out at no additional cost to you!  If you prefer to remain on Heartgard/Nexgard or Bravecto, we will still be able to prescribe it to you, but it will not be what our Doctors recommend.  Again, this is only as a precaution and we are not recalling or condemning any medications as potentially harmful, just may not be as effective against this one strain.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have!  Our Doctors and staff will be more than happy to try to help you in any way possible.

Need to switch out your meds? Call us today and we’ll take care of it!
